Marie Monique Dumoulin, known as Andrée, was born in Ottawa. Her father, who had signed up for service in WWI but had ended up deserting before going overseas, later left his family; when his daughter enlisted in 1942, his whereabouts had been unknown for six years.
Following her training, Andrée was posted to the Rideau Military Hospital, then reposted to No. 12 Coy in Ottawa, where she received an exemplary conduct rating.
She was admitted to hospital in February 1943, and discharged from the CWAC in March. In May of that year, she died of lung cancer at her mother’s home.
